Humidity affects the install day, and brine affects bare concrete — a properly coated floor handles both. From late May into late September a coating only goes down when the slab is warmer than the dew point, so we schedule morning starts and confirm the cure window before we mix. In winter, the brine NCDOT lays down before an ice storm and the rock salt spread after it ride into the garage on your tires, and repeated freezing and thawing with salt on the surface scales uncoated concrete.
